Leaders in Training

The Law School Admission Council is a nonprofit organization devoted to furthering quality, access, and fairness in law school admission by providing the core products and services that candidates and law schools depend on in the United States and around the world. Each year, we select a charity local to the city where our Annual Meeting is being held. This year we selected Leaders In Training in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Leaders in Training’s (LIT) mission is to empower East Las Vegas students to become first-generation college graduates and the next generation of diverse leaders who change the world.

Students begin the program in their first year of high school, and their journey continues through college and even after they graduate.

 The program currently operates in several public high schools in Clark County. Participants receive support through programming (family events, college information, financial aid, and scholarship information), regular monitoring (grade checks and counseling), standardized test prep, summer opportunities, a social justice capstone project, and more. Support continues through college and beyond  partly through an online platform developed by LIT.
