Lakeside is a non profit 501(c)3 Farm & Forest school in Essex County, New York that serves families with young children up to third grade. Situated amidst the Adirondack Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Boquet River Valley, our school provides an enriching natural setting for our many programs, including year-round childcare, a farm- and field-based Kindergarten, and mixed-grade Early Elementary instruction. Since our humble beginnings in 2006, we have welcomed more than 200 North Country children, serving a rural community of working class families.
This year, we have 38 students enrolled across our three programs. As we continue to grow with the needs of our community, our mission remains the same, we cultivate the whole child in an evolving ecosystem of independent thinking, community spirit and stewardship of our natural world.
Our quest is to inspire lifelong learning in our students, while enabling them to fully develop their unique capabilities. This is only possible through the devoted support of so many members of our wonderful community. It allows us to provide an exceptional early childhood education filled with magical experiences for all students.

Like all independent schools, Lakeside relies on extra financial support above and beyond tuition and fees. As we strive to keep tuition low and affordable for the families we serve, the real cost of sustaining our annual operating budget is greater than the cost of tuition. The breadth and depth of the education Lakeside provides requires the generous tax-deductible gifts of many.
Please join us in reaching our goal of $45,000. Your donations will help ensure a successful 2023-2024 school year for our students and our teachers. Your gift provides the promise of a sustainable future for our school, our children and our community.
When you decide to give a gift to Lakeside, every dollar goes to work right away and helps us with the following:
• $100 (6 music lessons for 1 classroom; 6 extra hours of early childhood education assistant help)
• $150 (two days average of campus repairs, 6 weeks of cleaning supplies, 1 month of phone and internet bills)
• $200 (ink and printer paper for a month)
• $300 (a month of nutritious locally sourced whole food for our Kindergarten class)
• $500 (one month of mowing and plowing )
• $1,500 (purchasing a dishwasher to secure the health and safety of our children by using the most up to date sanitary practices in our school kitchen)
• $2,000 (handwork classes for the Grades for the 2023-2024 school year)
• $2,500 (support an eligible family by contributing to the Tuition Assistance Fund)
