ICFW - Masjid Al Quds Fundraiser:Fiscal Yr 2021-22
Allah says in the Quran: “Those who spend [in Allah’s Cause – deeds of charity, alms] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).” [sūrah āl-Im’rān 3:133]
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
We hope this message finds you in the best of health and ever-increasing emaan, Ameen. The Islamic Center of Fort Wayne - Masjid Al Quds, is an important Islamic center in the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Along with the five daily prayers (and Jum’ah), we offer Quran classes for kids. The memorization and study of the major books of Islam is also a staple in the Masjid. While we are grateful that these courses are available at ICFW, we also place importance on affairs outside of the masjid. Community youth programs are an example of the service that we offer to the Muslim community. For the past various years, during Ramadan, the Masjid has had the privilege to serve iftar to an approximated 100 people everyday and In Sha Allah will strive to do it in the future; and also conducts taraweeh salah every Ramadan. This is a huge blessing for all the residents to have this Masjid open and operable throughout the year. We serve a diverse, predominantly immigrant community which demands strong and accessible institutions. All praise is due to Allah, the congregation’s time at the masjid is eased by our bilingual Imaam, who offers Friday prayer ( Khutbah al Jumu'a) sermons in Arabic and English. There are regular weekly programs which include but not limited to, weekly halaqa for brothers, English learning classes for sisters, Thursday Iftars, and many more new events are lined up for this year. This year, the Masjid was also helping the community with 'Corona-Kits' relief packages during this time of lock-down, to help those in need of food and supplies and offering any support to everyone in the community. We have distributed winter clothes as part of the ‘Beat-The-Winter ICFW Drive’ in partnership with the ICNA Relief to distribute winter gear to the homeless and needy during the sever winter this year with masjid actively taking part in community support and development.

Due to moratoriums imposed by government officials and health professionals in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; Islamic Center of Fort Wayne - Masjid Al Quds, has temporarily reduced its full capacity in a joint effort to curb the spreading of the Coronavirus. We are slowly but surely opening our doors to more patrons and pray to Allah SWT to keep us healthy and provide protection from all diseases.
However, as a direct result of the ongoing pandemic — the Masjid finds itself at a disadvantage due to the fact that we rely heavily on general donations especially during the month of Ramadan to raise funds necessary for the Masjid to operate effectively.

At this time, we are seeking monetary donation funds that will go directly to maintaining the day-to-day operations of the Masjid for the year 2021 and 2022. We estimate that we need to raise approximately $40,000 to maintain the expenses for the next 6 months, from the end of the year 2021 going into the fiscal year 2022. Any donation, of any size, is greatly appreciated! May Allah reward you.
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allāh which Sadaqah is the one that gives the greatest amount of reward from Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى)? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “That you give in charity whilst you are in good health and you are feeling miserly and you want to covet that wealth that you possess, and you fear poverty for yourself and that you hope for riches.” (Al-Bukhāri: no. 1419)
Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth and the servant who forgives, Allah adds to his respect; and the one who shows humility, Allah elevates him in the estimation (of the people).” (Muslim Vol. 4, Hadith.

We urge you to hasten to a good deed in which, In Sha Allah, you will be recompensed for. May Allah reward you for taking the time to read this and to pass this message around, so all our brothers and sisters can partake in investing in their akhirah.
