Please help us complete our Church Construction
In the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit. One God, Amen!
Established in 2007, Holy Trinity Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Chicago strives to facilitate the positive impacts of Christianity on children and families' social and intellectual development while reducing the adverse effects caused by lack of access to spiritual resources and other outreach services.
In 2016, Holy Trinity Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Chicago, IL was blessed to acquire a building that used to be a multi-use front store. It is located at 7310 N. Rogers Avenue, in Chicago, Illinois. It is a 16,000 square foot building. Once purchased, we realized that we had a lot of work and challenges ahead of us in converting it into an Orthodox church. Thankfully, we had a very dedicated parishioner with the knowledge and experience, who offered to act as the project manager and head up the construction of Holy Trinity. We had come close to depleting the balance in our savings, but with the donations of our own parishioners and with the generous gifts and moral support from sister Eritrean and Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo churches, and other communities in the area there was a light at the end of the tunnel. With the relentless drive and determination of our parish and its volunteers, this labor of love had begun to take shape!
So, what began as a dream of owning our own Church building in 2016, is almost to completion. The first and second phases of our project have been achieved successfully. Within two months, the last phase is scheduled to be finished. It was a well-planned megaproject for four years, split into 21 sections. We have completed most of the exterior interior spaces and recently installed new electric line, new plumbing line, complete commercial kitchen, new HVAC system, partial roof work, and complete new parking space. The main entrance was constructed so our church home is recognizable as an Orthodox Church!
We could not have done it without your support! We now ask for any help to realize the dream of finishing completely! We need to raise funds to help us finish the interior sanctuary work, flooring in the cafeteria, bathroom doors/ sanctuary doors and the Sunday school classrooms.
