In 2020, a small group of people from the EU, UK & US came together to help a friend in Serbia find homes for about 80 dogs after he was unable to continue sheltering them. We found forever homes in the UK for about 25 lucky dogs. But the remainder needed a place to go or they would be let out on the street. Brexit caused a disaster for rescue groups, so we had to find alternatives.

We decided we could continue to find homes but we needed to build our own shelter for the remaining dogs. And that was the beginning of Hearts for Paws of Serbia.

Each dog had a very sad story and we had really come to know and love these dogs.

Today, we continue to find homes, mostly in the U.S. Truly a group that lives by the words... Dog Rescue Without Borders! We still have about 35 dogs at our Hearts Shelter in Serbia plus there are about 150 others at the larger shelter on the property. Our generous supporters are the only source of funds for their daily meals and vet costs.

Some of these dogs were puppies when they were found on the street or abandoned, so they only know their life in a shelter. No love or care from anyone other than the person who feeds them.

Currently we are finishing the LONG and difficult process for the Hearts Shelter to be Registered in Serbia, instead of the constant threat that they will come and take the dogs away and put them in the horrid public shelters. Things are moving in the RIGHT direction!

So... The Fulsh Fund!

No, it isnt very romantic to donate to POOP! But, in order for the shelter registration to be complete, we need to create a sanitation system. The poo needs to go somewhere other than a big hole behind the shelter. Currently, our workers spend many hours each day hosing down kennels and removing waste by shoveling and carting it away. With the required system, the waste will be able to be washed down a sewer system. With a simple powerwasher, the dirty water and waste flow out through the sewer, which means we can finally be registered PLUS more time for the workers to spend with the dogs socially. AND the best news... we'll be able to send dogs to the UK again!

Please consider making a donation towards our Flush Fund! Its not for one cute, little, fluffy dog, but for over 175 dogs who need YOU. No amount is too small and every donation is greatly appreciated. We need a total of 8,000 euros for the entire project, but we are beginning with 3,000 to get it started at the shelter.
