Good Luck Macbeth

Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Co. is celebrating our 10th anniversary with our most ambitious season to date and a move to a new location. We are excited to announce that we are moving from our current location to a larger, more spacious venue. With a goal of maintaining our support of the Midtown district, GLM managed to find our perfect new home just a few blocks away at 124 West Taylor Street, in the Old Union Hall.

We are so unbelievably grateful to every single person who has made this move possible. We proudly reflect upon nine years; years of incredible art and exceptional creatives who poured their hearts into every single production. Nine years ago we started doing shows at First United Methodist Church and now we have signed the lease on a new space; a space that is all of our dreams. This is a space where we can grow. This is a place where we can expand our understanding of what's possible. This is a space we call home. Thank you Reno. We love all of you so much.

The money from this fundraiser will go toward our upcoming move and help us actualize our dream theatre. We are aiming to revamp our sound and lighting system, with new tech equipment and design. We hope to build an innovative stage and seating to accommodate a multitude of arrangements and looks. We are also planning on building a brand new box office, done in a classic movie theater style. The cost of equipment and materials is roughly $36,000 and this fundraiser would go a long way to helping us achieve our goal. We have big dreams; a brilliant theater producing cutting-edge shows at this highest of quality while offering comprehensive education programs to our community that are accessible, relevant, and fun.

Good Luck Macbeth is a small black box theater located in the heart of Midtown in Reno, NV.  Six years young, Good Luck Macbeth(GLM) has been and continues to be committed to producing original and innovative works of art, featuring local creatives, relating stories that speak to current and relevant issues in our community, society, and the world at large. GLM would like to be a place that fosters and nurtures the growing artistic and theater population here in Reno. In order to do that, we need your help.

Recently, GLM Theatre has gone through a though transition in leadership, and we (the new leadership) are so thankful for your past support.  As we look toward the future, we have many great ideas and creative ways we want to engage this unique community of Reno. GLM strives to be a community theatre, providing its facility to a number of community organizations for free or a minimal cost. With the tagline, We Tell Stories Here, GLM aims to produce shows that tap into the current pulse and beat of society, providing space for marginalized voices and experiences.

To keep GLM  going strong, we are launching our FIRST ever 5 for Live Campaign! Please, get the message out to your friends and family to support GLM (and participate in this campaign). Theater is a medium that serves to enrich the culture of any community. At GLM, we offer a youth theater programs, a Playwright in Residence Program to foster local writers and promote homegrown plays and musicals, and one of the few moviehouses showcasing foreign and independent films. 

GLM is committed to providing a space for our community that extends beyond just mainstage productions. We currently host live storytelling shows where real people share real stories, host a new praise inspirational worship services, as well as spoken word, poetry slams night, and serve as an indepedent/foreign filmhouse. We offer our space to the community at low cost believing it is our duty to provide accessible space to our community.

Your generous donation will allow us to improve the theater to make the space its highest good and allow us to continue providing innovative entertainment experiences that serve to enrich, educate, and inspire the Northern Nevada area.
