Daisy isn’t just any dog—she’s family. For the past 14 years, Daisy, a sweet Australian Shepherd, has been a faithful companion, a therapy dog, and a favorite at GodSpeed. She has touched countless lives, bringing comfort, joy, and healing to everyone she meets.
A few nights ago, Daisy suffered a terrible accident—she was kicked in the jaw by a steer. Her injuries are severe, and she now needs life-saving surgery that will cost over $10,000, not including follow-up care and aftercare. Without this surgery, Daisy won’t survive.
✨ Daisy’s Legacy ✨
Daisy has lived a life of service. She was a certified therapy dog through Paws and Effect, passing all her training and testing with flying colors. She has:
Helped create a whole class called Dog Scouts, teaching kids how to love, learn, grow, and control their emotions.
Comforted children, even in their hardest moments—when kids would get aggressive with Daisy, she would simply love them through it.
Spent time in schools, nursing homes, and crisis intervention cases, bringing peace and comfort wherever she went.
Worn “many hats” throughout the years, and even now in her partial retirement, continues serving at GodSpeed, doing what she was born to do.
Daisy means the world to Kelly, who has loved her and leaned on her through so many seasons of life. She also means the world to all of us at GodSpeed—where she has faithfully served as a therapy dog, spreading love and light to every person who came through the ranch.
This GoFundMe has been started by Mandi Stevens, a great leader here at GodSpeed. Mandi began as a participant, and through her journey she has graduated into becoming a mentor and now gives back in countless ways to the program. She knows that Al & Kelly did not want to ask for help, but she also knows how deeply it is needed—and how much it would mean to them and to Daisy.
