Footprints of Michigan

Hello my name is Leslie McDonald and I am volunteer for Footprints of Michigan I suggested that we start this to help Geronimo out. He has given everything to help those in need all while putting his own needs on back burner. Geronimo has inspired me to me a better person on a daily basis as well as many others, I first met him while seeking help for myself as I was homeless a few years ago. I walked into his office to see if they had any work boots for a job I just gotten. talking with him built a relationship with him seeing his compassion and what he does is amazing. When I found he was not even getting a salary and living in his office for 3 years and gave up everything just to start this organization to help others out I was blown away. I have never met anyone like him and I am thankful for what he has not only done for me but has shown me along the way. He is not asking for any of this I strongly feel we as a community owe it to him to now help him out as he has helped out so many and given so much. As most of you know he is know doing dialysis three times a week and still manages to run the organization full steam including winning 2021 greater Lansing Nonprofit of the year. He has mentioned he would really want to do the home dialysis because it is less stressful on his heart and he would not have to have a fistula placed in his arm as it would be peritoneal dialysis which is done at night while sleeping through stomach. He does not ask at all for anything I just would like to see him in his own house or apartment where he can relax and get his dialysis via home and not sleep on a couch anymore. He is just an overall amazing guy and we need to help him.
