I'm raising money to benefit Expanding Opportunities' sister organization, Ni Bero, in their efforts to combat devastating effects of COVID19 by getting medical equipment and food resources to Shipibo communities in Peru. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.

More information about Expanding Opportunities: Expanding Opportunities increases self sufficiency through educational and charitable projects nationally and internationally. Our crisis center in Kenya supports education and reunification of orphaned and neglected children in their home communities, and our summer camp in Maine provides affordable childcare and invaluable outdoor experiences to rural Maine youth.

Give Hope: Educate Children for Mother of Domestic Violence
In the heart of Kenya, courageous mothers have made brave decisions to escape a violent home in order to protect their children. ( Faces blurred for their safety) With nothing but determination, they end up working as a day labourers, earning barely enough to provide a single meal a day.

Mothers' greatest heartbreak is seeing their children out of school. Once full of dreams, they have been forced to stay home because their mothers cannot afford the costs of education.

Yes education. Education is mandatory and partially subsidized by the government, but it is far from free. The costs, though seemingly small, are insurmountable for an unskilled parent on the run. Uniforms, shoes, desks, lunches, backpacks, books, supplies, entrance, and school fees are just some of the necessities that stand out between her children and their education.

Why Education Matters

In Kenya, education is mandatory but not free. Parents must pay for:

Uniforms and shoes

Books and school supplies

Desks and school lunches

Entrance and school fees

For a mother on the run with no stable income, these costs are impossible to meet. Yet without school, her children’s dreams are slipping further away.

What Your Support Will Do

We are raising funds to cover the full cost of education for such mothers. at the moment a mother of three children:

$340 for the remainder of 2025

$660 for 2026

Total Goal: $1,000

Your gift will ensure they can return to school immediately and stay enrolled through 2026. This gives their mother time to find stability and rebuild her life, free from violence.

This campaign is in partnership with Expanding Opportunities in the USA and a registered NGO in Kenya. We are dedicated to supporting education for vulnerable children and families, making sure they have a safe path forward.

Expanding Opportunities increases self-sufficiency, self-efficacy, and cultural awareness through experiential programs that address gaps in education outcomes in rural communities. We operate a children's home and crisis center for reuniting orphaned and abandoned children with families and an education project in Kenya as our core missions. ExOp has a small, dedicated staff and volunteers who improve the experience of childhood for disadvantaged children and their communities.
