Please Help Us Keep The Lights On Year End Fundraiser!
We are looking to raise $10,000 (tax deductible year-end for you!) for Giving Tuesday to literally keep the lights on! Our non-profit, Dream Big Honduras, supports impoverished children who want to pursue continued education from 7th grade on into college. We have about 50 kids in our program and have already graduated 15 from high school. We are now sponsoring many of these young adults into college and helping them enter the workforce.
We also have a food bank program that provides groceries to families in need twice a month (there are about 15 families in this program). The only requirements to receive this support are to send their children to school every day and provide a safe home for them at night.
Additionally, we offer emergency financial support (medical, dental, construction, etc.) to kids/parents in dire need. This includes covering hospital stays, paying for medicines, and supporting larger projects like building handicap ramps and desks for schools in need.
Finally, we have a local USA component of our mission called the Joy Project. This ministry collects and distributes blessing baskets during various holidays filled with food and holiday cooking supplies for local families in need. We give out these baskets to help make it easier for families struggling to provide for their kids and to spread joy and hope throughout our communities.
