“For those of you that unfortunately never had the opportunity to get to know Christian, we’re sorry. He was truly a special child. He continues to be an amazing inspiration to everyone who knew him. He touched many lives in his short 21 months.” These are my mother’s words regarding my beautiful brother, Christian, who passed away far too young. As these words run through my head, I can’t help but think about the 15,780 other children in the US who will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of nineteen. “If prayers could have healed him or love could have saved him, we would still be holding him tightly in our arms.“ As my mother continues to reflect upon Christian’s life, she highlights the importance of love. Through my organization, Caring Christians, I hope to inspire others to spread this love that is so desperately needed in the lives of these children.
