Craig's Doors is fundraising
Amherst shelter needs replacement cargo van!
This month, Craig's Doors, an emergency shelter in Amherst, MA, lost one of the most valuable members of its team: Pearl, a 2006 Ford Econoline cargo van.
During her time with us, Pearl served our organization tirelessly, and with unwavering devotion. Because of her, staff were able to:
- Help move guests into their new homes
- Deliver beds, couches, and other furniture to newly housed guests
- Pick up food from the local food bank
- Deliver supplies and necessities to our active sites
- Collect trash from local encampments
- Deliver water to our unhoused neighbors
- Much, much more.
We’re incredibly proud to say that in the last twelve months, 20% of our guests found housing through the efforts of our case management team. Only a few years ago, that number would have been unthinkable. We couldn’t have done it without Pearl.
Pearl is in a better place now, but without her, it’s difficult for us to provide our guests with the resources and services they need to thrive. This #GivingTuesday, we hope you’ll honor Pearl’s memory and all the lives she’s changed by helping us raise money for a replacement cargo van.
To show our appreciation, donors to the campaign will receive:
- A commemorative #ForPearl cargo van fridge magnet (for donations of $250 or more)
- Their name displayed on the back of our new cargo van (for donations of $500 or more)
- The honor of permanently naming our new cargo van (for the single largest donation received)
