Acres for Life - Therapy & Wellness Center (Acres for Life)

Hay for Heroes is a fundraising campaign for Acres for Life ~ Therapy & Wellness Center. We are a 501c-3 non-profit in Forest Lake, Minnesota and dedicated to helping provide mental health services to members of our community, and we need your help. Our horses are working year round in the rain, snow, sun, and everything in between. Every day they are showing up for our clients, helping people to share their stories through an experiential model of therapy. They are showing up for the 12 year old girl struggling with anxiety and feeling alone. They show up for the veteran with complex PTSD after touring overseas. They show up for the man who is struggling to find hope or purpose in life. They show up constantly, without judgement, without conditions, they hold space and provide healing on a level that is indescribable.

Each day, they are showing up to help people experiencing the "droughts" of life - trauma, depression, anxiety, etc. and are truly making a difference in the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. With the literal drought this year, our horses and team had to adapt to our environments - meaning very limited resources of fresh grass for them to eat throughout the spring and summer months. They were unable to rely on the world around them to fill them up - which is something that may or may not resonate with many of us. We found ourselves needing to supplement with hay year round this year, and are needing support to continue to supply our herds with the sustenance they need - something that they metaphorically provide for people every single day.

Each and every dollar of your donation will go directly towards the care and feeding of our horses.
