Hello I am Brian Bartley. RPCV Gambia 2010-2013 and current Operations Director for Africa BEECause. I live just down the street from Omar’s Peace Corps Kitchen.
Omar Jallow from Omar's Peace Corps Kitchen passed away last night. I am starting this fundraiser to collect charity for Omar's family. In The Gambia family and friends will get together 10 days and 40 days after the death of a loved one to morn their passing, pray and give charity to the immediate family.
I know that Omar’s good will and hospitality has been important to many PCVs, lovers of African rice dishes, Expats and Gambians.
I will keep this fundraiser going for 40 days, if you feel like contributing please do. I will work with the language and cultural facilitators at the Peace Corps office to make sure the money is handed over in the right way and is used for a good cause.
