Chapter 13 Mission Statement
The 173d Airborne Brigade Association, Inc. is a 501c(19) non-profit service organization committed to our members, our community, and our great nation. We are dedicated to keeping the unique bond that exists between all Sky Soldiers. Our annual reunions allow us to maintain camaraderie with old war buddies and make new ones.
Texas Chapter 13 Sky Soldiers are involved in numerous organized functions and community events. As an example of our commitment to community, we support:
1. Christmas feast and summer BBQs for the children at Roy Maas' Meadowland Center in Boerne TX
2. Annual scholarship to members, their children or Gold Star parents, spouses and their children
3. A bereavement program for Gold Star families of Sky Soldiers killed in action
4. The Wounded Warrior Program through the 173d Association Wounded Warrior Program
5. The annual Ride for the Troops to assist the Fisher House at BAMC
6. Active duty Sky Soldier downrange packages and letters
7. The annual Running of the Herd, a 24 hour assault run to commemorate the battle on the 8th of November, 1965.
8. The Veterans War Memorial of Texas in McAllen
9. Support for the Wreaths Across America project.
