Research trip to Uganda - Chimps
Donation protected
It's a sad reality that thousands of animals are maimed and killed due to hunting snares set up throughout the Kibale National Park.
My goal is to assist in reducing the number of individuals that are hurt or killed directly related to this, even helping those who have already been injured.
Did you know, that at any one time there are 15,000 snares set up within the park. That's roughly 20 snares per Kilometer. With around 1400 Eastern Chimpanzees calling Kibale home, the odds are stacked against them, and unfortunately about 1/3 of Chimps in Uganda have suffered horrible injuries directly related to snares.
If you're interested in reading more about snares and the "Kibale Snare Removal Program" implemented by the locals, I have attached a link to an article in the Guardian.
Please join us on Facebook too. Search 'A Change For Chimps' and give us a Like, you'll be able to see updates and progress reports there.
Also, if you're keen to keep updated with my blogs, check out my brand new website http://changeforchimps.com You'll also have the opportunity to donate to the Jane Goodall Insititute Australia through my Roots and Shoots link.
Thanks for the support so far everyone!
