Change Africa for Good is a a nonprofit startup that is based in Uganda. We are focused on supporting community based NGOs and sending skilled volunteers to four target countries in Africa: Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, and Rwanda. Our Purpose is to 'empower volunteers and NGOs to change our communities for good' and our vision is that 'every community in East Africa is not just surviving, but thriving in the world.’
CHANGE AFRICA FOR GOOD
East African countries are among the developing countries experiencing challenges such as high unemployment rates, low quality healthcare and education services especially in rural areas. These development challenges need locally designed solutions if the region is to attain steady progress.
Join “Francis Sekate” and his team of “Change Africa for Good” in solving these East African development challenges through locally designed volunteering solutions!
“Change Africa for Good” is new volunteering organization based in Uganda, supporting community based NGOs in East Africa. We are frustrated by the limited benefits of so called ‘voluntourism’ provided by many International volunteering organizations in our communities.
Our focus is empowering NGOs and volunteers to create real impact in communities by understanding their real needs and through real partnerships.
Our impact goals will help deliver the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals in health, education and socio-economic development at a community level in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya. For example:
Health – Increasing the numbers of patients tested, diagnosed, treated and vaccinated in our communities
Education – Increasing the numbers of girls and boys completing primary and secondary school education, and literacy rates in our communities
Socio-economic – Getting more young people into employment through support, training and apprenticeships
We are fundraising to raise funding to help build capacity of 126 local NGOs across East Africa with knowledge in volunteer programming and management, and help them recruit skilled volunteers through our online platform. The funds will help facilitate CAFG staffs in travelling to each of the 126 local NGOs to carry out needs assessment, training, procure training materials, allowances, office equipments, contribute on office space and administration costs to execute this program.
So far 30 local NGOs have expressed interest and 3 have already received comprehensive volunteer training and management packages and submitted their opportunities ready to receive volunteers.
Part of the money will be used to procure supplies/logistics such as food, medicine, medical equipments and scholastic materials during community volunteer project implementation for 380 children at Child welfare Attainment center in Mubende district Uganda and Tomern Gosa primary school in Kamuli district Uganda.
