My name is Rex Evans.
I can't thank my supporters enough for all of the support you have shown thus far in my campaign for Liberty County Sheriff. There is a lot of work to be done between now and the elections in March. To make this campaign successful, I need your help. It takes a lot of financal support to run for any office. There are signs and banners, shirts and all kinds of things that need to be purchased to help get the word out. This is where you come in. Any tax deductable amount is helpful. Every single penny will be used towards our goal of winning this very important election.

For those of you who don't know me, let me fill you in on who I am.
I have a combined 25+ years of experience in Texas Law Enforcement. Fifteen of those were years in Harris County, Texas. Those years in Harris County were very humbling and rewarding... Why? Because I was able to carry on a tradition that started with my Grandfather, and continued with my Father, resulting in a 3 generation tradition of Harris County Law Enforcement.
In 2011, my law enforcement career led me to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. I was assigned to the Patrol Division on night shift. Later that year, I was privileged to be promoted to the rank of Captain. I served the citizens of Liberty County in this capacity, overseeing the Patrol and Detective Divisions. I also served as the Liberty County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer.
In Late 2012, the Cleveland Independent School District, by a review board process, selected me to serve the citizens of Liberty County as the new Chief of Police for Cleveland ISD Police Department. When I assumed my duties as Chief of Police, I initiated and completed a comprehensive review of the entire Department including it's operations and financial integrity. During this review, I found many deficiencies that revealed a lack of efficient and effective service. With the support of the Superintendent of Schools and the School Board, the Cleveland ISD Police Department is now able to deliver the service and dedication of an award winning Law Enforcement Agency that the citizens of Cleveland ISD deserves. With the careful selection and cooperation of a team of fine, professional police officers, the Cleveland ISD Police Department is now on the forefront of professionalism, dedication and true leadership, setting the bar for other departments in School Based Law Enforcement.
By reaching out to organizations, corporations and the community, I was able to obtain substantial donations to help bring the Cleveland ISD Police Department to a more modern, trustworthy and safe standard that is expected in the 21st. century. One of the first items purchased were Body Camera’s for each dedicated and deserving Officer. Purchasing these cameras helped instantly instill trust in our Department, its Officers and helped us move towards our core mission, which is to protect and defend our most valuable resource, that being our children.
I see a bright future for Liberty County. The potential economic development and growth of Liberty County is becoming more and more obvious every day. I want to insure the the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is able to perform at the level that the citizens and business owners would expect to insure their success. While many at the Liberty County Sheriff's Office work diligently towards the growth of the department, I certainly believe that, with the leadership expected by these dedicated, professional deputies, the Department can accomplish this, and any other goal.
As your Sheriff, I will work closely with, not against, our Liberty County Commissioners and the County Judge. This is the only way to ensure seamless, responsible fiscal management of funds, equipment and personnel. This effort is only to maximize every one of your tax dollars spent by the Sheriff’s Office.
All of this has culminated to my decision to announce my candidacy to be your next Sheriff of Liberty County.
I have a plan.... I am prepared....
I believe that I have demonstrated, on multiple occasions, on multiple platforms, especially under very difficult circumstances, that I can lead efficiently and effectively. I am capable of making the critical decisions that must be made to ensure fair, transparent and honest service to the community which in we serve.
I know that I am asking for one of the most important and significant things which we, as Americans have.... You’re Vote.
I believe, should you decide to tender your Vote for Me, Rex Evans for Sheriff of Liberty County, I can and will provide to you the finest Sheriff’s Office in the entire State of Texas. It can be done, and together, WE will make it happen.
Here is just a small part of my comprehensive and achievable plan...
•I will realign Sheriff’s Office personnel and resources, thus allowing for more pro-active, highly visible patrols through our neighborhoods and communities, making our families safety our top priority.
•I will ensure a more financially efficient and effective operation for all of the citizens of Liberty County. A conservative approach to Sheriff’s Office operations is a responsible, yet highly effective proven management technique.
•I will employ Body Cameras for Deputies and Mobile Computers for each Patrol Car. These two key implements can have a significant impact on ensuring documented, fair and equal treatment towards the public and will help improve officer safety.
•I will dedicate the necessary manpower to solve more crimes. In addition, I will focus on the current criminal case load to improve the Sheriff's Office rate of case clearance and convictions. This can be accomplished by dedicating resources to the overall investigative operation. This action will help increase overall public safety throughout unincorporated Liberty County.
The office of Sheriff is more than a symbol for public safety. It’s nothing less than the essential linchpin to assuring that our communities remain secure places for us to live and raise our families.
I have dedicated my career to the the citizens of the State of Texas. I am not a politician. I am a highly decorated law enforcement professional who understands the complexities of modern law enforcement, corrections processes and the solemn responsibilities of the office of Sheriff.
Who becomes the next Sheriff will have a significant impact on the public safety, economy, government and politics of Liberty county. I am committed to raising up those who have fallen, embracing those who need support and doing all that is in our power to educate the youngest among us to help make their path in life productive and trouble free. As the current Chief of Police of the Cleveland Independent School District Police Department, I have already committed to do all in my power to make Liberty County safer. I am committing to you again, that as Sheriff I will continue to give you all that I have and all that I am.
