Central Ohio Young Marines
After another whole year of community service and giving back, we want to take our kids to the Cosi Science Center in Columbus, Ohio (Our Unit's home town) to reward them for their hard work!
We have negotiated a group rate of just $10 per Young Marine (A 60% discount!!!). All of our traditional unit funds which are donated from local veteran's organizations and individuals are spent on uniforms, food, training equipment, and travel expenses for our kids. We do not have a "Field Trip Budget" (This is where you come in!)
We are asking for a SMALL donation from you or your organization. Just $10 can sponsor a single Young Marine's trip to COSI on 10/28/2018.
Our unit "Drills" two weekends per month, and we are actively involved with community service projects all over the city. They WORK SO HARD AND WE WANT TO GIVE THEM SOMETHING BACK FOR THEIR EFFORTS
The Young Marines program has several key goals:
1. Help develop our future leaders by focusing on character-building and leadership skills.
2. Raise awareness of common gateway drugs, (including tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, prescription drugs and marijuana) that are most often encountered by children and young adults in their homes and neighborhoods.
3. Giving back to through community service. Our unit is a BIG supporter of the Honor Flight Program here in Columbus. Our kids also volunteer at Memorial Day and Veteran's Day parade setups.
