I am happy to tell you all that after a long hard and scary struggle with depression for more then 2 years I am on the right path to returning to my happy and healthy life!
BUT FIRST......As a part of my recovery, and becuase I have always wanted to do this but never had the nerve or time, I am going to be traveling abroad to volunteer. I am focusing my search in 2 places, Uganda and Thailand. I will be doing work with Women who have been involved in similar situations as I went through but don't have the resources I had to help me. This includes women who are victims of sexual assualts/abuses as well as undereducated and repressed women. I also will be doing work with children teaching them English.

I have finalized my plans and put down the deposit that was required to secure my spot in the Love Volunteers program in Thailand. So this is something I am 100% committed to and I start December 2. I still need funding for the rest of room and board and the biggy my flight.
I am very passionate about this issue and can't wait to make a difference! However, there are costs involved in volunteering abroad. Travel expenses to the destination are a large portion of the budget. There are also fees associated with your stay that cover your cost of living while there. In addition there are administrative fees as well as miscellanous expenses such as passport, visa, TEFL certification, vacinations, etc. ( I have thouroughly researched and vetted the organization I am going to be involved in)
I would appreciate ANY donations you can provide. $5 or $500 anything helps. I would like to raise these funds quickly as I need to book my flight ASAP.
I love you all and appreciate all of the support you all have given me during my time of need. I also thank you in advance for helping me pass on some help to others who need help as well.
