Pre-School in Nakaseke Uganda
Donation protected
A recent UNESCO report, at least 250 million primary school age children are unable to read, write or do basic mathematics, many of whom have no access to formal education. In Uganda, 71% of children drop out of primary school!
Studies have shown that children exposed to an early education program are more likely to graduate from high school. In the short term, the program will help benefit children under the age of 5, who will be better prepared for kindergarten, but it will also benefit the country when children perform well academically, don't drop out of high school and contribute to the Ugandan economy.
I used the Girl Scouts of America as my platform to design the Abaana Okusoma pre-school program for children under 5 that will help them acquire a basic foundation in reading and math. Today the program only has access to one room on Saturdays in the Nursing School. With your help we can build a new pre-school.
