Cardiff to Calais Community Kitchen

We (Becca and Dan) are heading to the Refugee Community Kitchen in Calais on Monday 3rd September to volunteer for one week and we would love to take some donations with us and raise much needed funds to help re-stock the shelves at the warehouse.
We are going to help out in the community kitchen to cook meals and distribute to displaced people in Calais and Dunkirk.
CAN YOU HELP US?
Whether you can donate £1 or £100 the money will make a HUGE difference - every pound donated provides 2 full meals for refugees.
WHAT WILL WE USE THE MONEY FOR?
We will purchase bulk wholefoods that have been requested by the community kitchen as well as some hygiene products requested by Help Refugees. If we exceed the amount that will fit in our vehicle we will donate the rest directly to The Refugee Community Kitchen and Help Refugees.
NON FOOD DONATIONS
We are also hoping to take some non food donations to Help Refugees. They are currently accepting the items below so if you have anything going spare, clean and in good condition then please get in touch for us to collect / arrange for you to drop off.
Men's thin ankle socks
Men’s underwear (boxers, only new please)
Tents/tarpaulins
Sleeping bags and blankets
Trainers and walking shoes (sizes 40-43)
Jogging bottoms (sizes small and medium)
Rain ponchos
Men's short-sleeved t-shirts (small and medium)
Men's boots (sizes 40-43)
Waterproof and non-waterproof jackets
Summer hats/baseball caps
Gloves
Small backpacks/ drawstring bags
Roll mats
Jumpers and hoodies (small and medium)
Belts (men’s)
Men’s skinny jeans (small and medium)
Emergency foil blankets
Please note that for clothing, we’re currently only accepting small and medium men’s items and no women's or children's items (except for waterproof jackets that are warm and practical, as well as good quality boots and trainers, sizes 39-42)). We cannot accept items with camouflage, very bright clothing, clothing with religious or other controversial symbols, and anything condoning drugs or alcohol.
