Car Fund for Wildlife Volunteer

Kris Spasojevic is an Australian native wildlife volunteer carer who has dedicated the last 10 years to rescuing and caring for native wildlife.  Recently her car “gave up the ghost”. A car is an important part of a wildlife carer's work. Without it Kris is unable to rescue and release animals or support them once they have been released.

Kris cares for Brushtail and Ringtail Possums as well as a variety of Australian native birds including Kookaburras, Tawny Frogmouths, Lorikeets, Magpies, Currawongs, Butcher Birds and many more. This keeps her very busy to say the least. Without her contribution to the care and well-being of these animals many would be lost. The urban environment has not been kind to our native wildlife and the dedication of people like Kris is invaluable…but she needs a car!

Kris's commitment, kindness and passion for the animals is such that, at times, her personal and business life has suffered and resulted in severe loss of income. She drives long distances and spends many hours moving animals from vets to carers or release sites often well into the night.  Without a car she is limited in the rescuing and caring she can do and has relied on the generosity of friends to provide her with a "loan" car so she can continue to help our amazing wildlife.
