Eddie Moreno Fundraiser

Donation protected
Those of you from San Antonio area may be familiar with the name Eddie Moreno, an Alamo Heights basketball player who became paralyzed from the neck down in a road rage incident near his house. Early in the morning of March 26, 2011, Eddie’s whole life changed when he was shot in the cheek. The bullet shattered his jaw and severed his spinal cord at the C2/C3 level, leaving Eddie paralyzed from the neck down and completely ventilator dependent.

Eddie had dreams of becoming a coach so he could make a difference in kids’ lives, but due to his paralysis, those dreams have been put on hold. Over the years, Eddie has had to learn a completely new way of living. He continues to stay positive, and has hopes that one day God will grant him a miracle.

Living with this type injury is extremely expensive for his family; medical bills, continued therapy and a full-time nursing staff are just a few of the expenses. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover close to the majority of costs.

A couple of Eddie’s close friends and I have decided to create this GoFundMe account to benefit the Moreno family and raise funds towards Eddie's continual care.

If you can find it in your heart to donate to the Moreno family, anything helps and is greatly appreciated!

My name is Jett Ploetz. Eddie Moreno is a good friend and was a classmate of mine in San Antonio at Alamo Heights High School. The funds from this GoFundMe campaign will go towards Eddie’s continual care.
