Canon 5D MKIII Replacement Costs

At around 1AM last night I was out taking pictures of the stars by myself at Renwick Brook in Glace Bay. I was walking in one of the darker parts of the brook when somebody came up from behind me, grabbed me by the arm and stuck something to my back, saying something along the lines of "give me whatever you have". I told the guy I had no money or my wallet but I have my camera, that it was expensive and he could have it. He took the camera and ran off, but when I turned around it was too dark to notice any distinguishable characteristics.
After I called 911 and they took a team down to the brook with a search dog to look for the guy, they ended up finding the camera and lens with the lens detached about an hour later, close from where the guy took it in the first place. I picked it up from the station and it ended up being pretty much destroyed, the lens, shutter blades, mirror, and sensor are all in pieces, and there's water inside of the camera in some spots.
Thankfully the majority of the camera is going to be covered through my insurance company, but not all of it. I'm looking for $1,000 CAD to cover the difference in costs. Photography/videography is my passion, but it's also what I do for a living and my camera is how I make my money. I have a few big events coming up that I'm booked for, and without a camera to shoot them with I don't know what I'm going to do.
