Camshire Meadows Playground

Camshire Meadows is a beautiful subdivision of Pensacola Habitat for Humanity homes located in Pensacola, Florida. Our homeowners are currently working with Pensacola Habitat to submit a matching grant application through KABOOM! which will go towards purchasing playground equipment for the 180 children that live there.
Located off of Gulf Beach Highway, Camshire Meadows unfortunately is not within an easily-traveled distance of recreational equipment or facilities for children. As such, many of the community’s children play in the streets or in neighbors yards. In a subdivision of more than 90 homes, there a many cars and naturally busy streets as folks come and go. By bringing playground equipment to the empty central lot in Camshire Meadows, kids would have a safe location that promotes healthy physical growth and socialization. Physical activity among children and young people is so important, and can help foster positive self-images, leadership skills, and healthiness in general. Inactivity is directly linked to childhood obesity rates and many other health issues, and we want to do our part as a community to make sure we provide the resources necessary to better our children’s lives.
The Camshrie Meadows HOA needs to raise 10,000 dollars by June 1st. We have already committed $9,000 of our own money, on top of the $9,000 offered from KaBoom! and $6,000 from the equipment vendors. With your help, we believe we can accomplish our goals of providing a safe and healthy play area for our children. Any donations you make will go towards the construction of the park and the purchasing of the equipment. Our homeowners and our children will be extremely grateful for any donations that can be made towards our cause.
