Who's Behind the Campaign: The Camp Wa-Ri-Ki Board of Directors
Who You're Helping: Each year Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki helps thousands of at risk, and metropolitan area youth.
What - Campaign... Raising Heaven and Earth: We're raising money so we can move earth at the 70 year-old Kiwanis Camp Wa-Ri-Ki and make some needed repairs and upgrades. The heaven part? Well, you can see that in the smiles of the at-risk, church group, and special needs kids we serve.
We've priced out some equipment that will do much needed jobs at the Camp, including athletic field upgrades, sewage system modernization, and new fittings for the dorms. Then... there's the new Retreat/Staff & Counselors' Center targeted to open in late 2015 -- it's already underway, but we can sure use some more financial help:

We've recently signed a 50-year lease on the property and are mounting an ambitious development campaign of which the first step is having the needed equipment. We already hired a professional re-modeler who serves as Camp host, and thanks to his suggestion, we want to use part of the money raised to purchase a new gas powered water heater -- it will heat more water, plus save on annual costs. And that makes for happy campers.
