Memorial fund for SGT Robert Bowers

Donation protected
SGT Robert Bowers died March 24th, 2016  at the young age of 32. He left behind a wife, Brittany and two young children. SGT Bowers battled with PTSD from his seventeen month combat deployment to Afghanistan during OF 6-7. HE also was waiting on back surgery for injuries suffered to him from his time in service. He served in 1-32 Infantry, 10th   Mountain Division for five and a half years. SGT Bowers received a "Other than Honorable" discharge while waiting to be medically discharged from 10th mountains Warrior transition unit for failing a drug test. He failed for the same pain medication the Army prescribed him for months but the prescription had ended 4 weeks prior to the drug test. After discharge, SGT Bowers attempted many times to obtain physical and psychological treatment at Veterans Affairs in which he was unlawfully denied, time after time. He was also denied veterans life insurence and veterans pension/Compensation. After death, the Department of Defense denied SGT Bowers his LAST RIGHT to a military funeral. SGT Bowers was a brave and hardened combat veteran who more than deserved ALL benefits but fell victim to the system and forgotten by his country in which he was willing to die for and ultimately did. This Gofundme is to help his wife cover medical and funeral bills. It is also to help his wife, Brittany Bowers provide for his daughter and young son, Robert Allen Bowers, Jr. Any donation large or small will be greatly appreciated! The donations are linked to SGT Bowers father, Norman Bowers bank account. SGT Bowers was a true American Hero, one of the bravest Combat Infantryman I've ever seen and closer than a brother. He will be missed by many but forgotten by none.
