Computers for Schools in Bandja, CM

Donation protected
We are a group of six students from KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Through Enigineers Eithout Borders Sweden are we working on a project aiming to improve the quality of education and provide technology training in schools. Accessing computers and surrounding technologies through education promotes lifelong learning and IT skills which will ensure the students great access to the job market.

In August 2017 three of us will travel to the vocational school Navigio Academy in Bandja, a village in West Cameroon, and we'll bring 24 Raspberry Pi's and everything else needed to install the computer set-up.

Using Raspberry Pi 3's as our computers brain will enable us to create a setup with much better sustainability and resilience than any modern laptop or desktop PC. The Raspberry Pi is energy efficient and still offers an ocean of possibilities, like any other computer.

The school is a vocational school teaching music, computer science, sewing and hotel/restaurant management and was started by the Swedish Non-Government Organisation (NGO) Flickors Utbildning i Kamerun (Girls' Education in Cameroon) in 2008.

So at this point we need some help with money to get to Bandja and install the computers!

Thanks for sharing and caring!
