TEEN GIVING CLUB'S SERVICE TRIP TO GUATEMALA & EDUCATIONAL VIDEO/DOCUMENTARY
This summer, 20 volunteers from TGC are going to stay at the Hogar Malone and Maria Auxiliadora orphanages in Guatemala and take care of the kids living there. The Guatemalan children come from impoverished and abusive families, and will really appreciate our love and quality time. Our volunteers will spend time with the children; teaching English, crafts, music sessions, dances, soccer, games, etc.
ABOUT TEEN GIVING CLUB
We are group of high schoolers who are passionate about giving back and empowering others to do the same. For two years, we have succeeded in bettering the lives of disadvantaged youth in San Diego by volunteering several times a month with various types of nonproft organizations . Activities include becoming peer pals to kids with autism, teaching surf lessons to foster students, craft parties at homeless facilities, and distributing clothes to teens in need. Now, we are ready to expand our love for volunteering from locally to globally and teach other teen how easy, fun and rewarding it is!
OUR "WHY"
One of the reasons we chose Guatemala orphans is because there is no foster care system is in place, like here in the US. So every orphaned child gets thrown into a large orphanage and becomes a number. We wanted to do whatever we could for the children that come through both the boys and girls’ orphanages, making them feel like they are loved, help them to realize how important they are to the world, and in a caring family who will take care of them, so they don’t feel like a number in a big orphan institution. With our efforts we hope to change the dreams, hopes and lives of all the precious children that come through the doors at the Hogar Miguel Magone and Maria Auxiliadora.
YOUR HELP
Your donations will go towards projects at the orphanage and to produce our educational video/documentary of the trip which we plan to send out nationally to middle and high schools, to motivate and teach other teens to plan volunteer projects that are fun and personally rewarding.
Even a small donation will make a big difference.
