Brigham Young University Wrestling Club came to the NCWA WCC tounrnament in full force this passed weekend. As the heavy favorites, BYU took the team race by a score of 183 to 98.5 over California State Northridge. Propelling the team to this success was 4 individual Conference titles, and 5 others earning a qualifying bid to the national tournament in Allen, Texas on March 8th.
After having their first All-American last season, BYU hopes to secure several places on the podium this time around. BYU has 7 wrestlers ranked, with 5 of them inside the top 20 as well as a D1 #13 ranking for the team.
BYU Wrestling is a self- funded program that requires the team members to pay their way for all away competition. Between flights, hotels, and entree fees this is an expensive time of the year for the team. We have benefited grately from donations in the passed, and are sincerely grateful for the support of those who make this team possible.
Our goal of $8,000 will help to pay the team entree fees, the cost of hotels in Dalla, and travel expenses as needed.
These dedicated student-wrestlers are grateful to have an opportunity to continue competing on the mat, and are very appreciative of your contributions toward helping them reach their collegiate wrestling and future goals.
