Save Our Royals

When the pressure turns on, the Royals turn off. Never such truer words have been penned by a Kansas City journalist such as Sam Mellinger did on July 20, 2014 (KC Star article). After reading his editorial, we decided to re-kindle the efforts of Save Our Royals and begin a campaign to raise money to fly banners over Kauffman Stadium approximately 1 hour before game time as well as flying the same banner over the downtown Kansas City area.

How much do banners cost?  Well, the company we hired in the past said we were doing "Gods Work" so we received a small discount but we're not sure if we'll get that this time so we are budgeting $800 per flight.  We've set a goal of $3,000 for the campaign but obviously we want to surpass that goal. 

So what would the banner say?  Well, those that donate will decide.  There is no premediated message to fly.  Instead, this will be a consensus vote by the fans.  We're not asking for a fire sale but rather we want the Organization and its Players to step up in the final months of the season.  If we know we are a bat short, let's go get it. 

Please join us in this mission to get better baseball in Kansas City. A dollar or two or 50 will help in this cause. Ask your friends who follow the Red Sox, Yankees, Giants or whoever to donate a dollar or two to this cause. Surely they’d like to help support the return of better baseball in Kansas City.

Let’s return Hope and Glory to the Royals Organization. Let’s do it for Dick Howser, Dan Quisenberry, George Brett, Brett Saberhagen and the others who led the charge in 1985 to win the World Series.
