People's Parklet Community Project

Hello! We are an independent group of students from Columbus College of Art & Design, working to bring art into Columbus, Ohio! Our group is headed by Jenna Feldman and Madison Brown and made up of a team of artists from all specialties.

In an effort to make the Columbus city streets more enjoyable, we would like to make city life easier by providing a safe and creative space the city can enjoy. We are attempting to make a stationary parklet, or a sidewalk extension that provides more space and amenities for people using the street, such as seating and shade. This parklet would be roughly the size of a parking space, and provide commuting city-goers a place to rest amongst natural materials, such as wood and plants.

With this planted firmly in Columbus, we aim to improve city life!

We currently need money for materials in order to make our parklet, such as wood like cedar or yellow pine, screws and nails, and medium density overlay, and deck boards. Any donations would be much appreciated.
Our goal is to raise this money by March 25th, 2016, so we can begin construction on the 29th, and complete the parklet by the week after.

As a dedicated group of students, we believe our hard work and effort could bring fantastic art and design into Columbus, Ohio! Our project will be exhibited on the CCAD campus when completed, and then donated to a company inside the city for further enjoyment.
