Buddy the dog's cancer treatment

Buddy is a 5 and a half year old Blue Nosed Pit Bull.  Buddy was diagnosed with cancer last week.  

Buddy got his name for the main character "Buddy" from the movie "Elf"  featuring Will Ferrell.  His lives with his sister "Jovie" another Blue Nosed Pit Bull, his brother "Francisco" a Pygmy goat and his mom and dad, Shannon and Shawn.

Buddy joined our family in 2010 when he was adopted from the Orange County Animal Care in Orange, California.

We have all fallen in absolute Love with Buddy and he is very much a member of our family.  He sleeps in the bed with his sister and mom and dad every night and loves to cuddle.


Buddy may be recognized by some, as the dog on the label of "Nature's Specialties Silk-N-Finish Leave-In Pet Conditioner Gel, 8-Ounce" .

Also Buddy and Jovie take photos for the website PhotograDog.com which is kind of like thier own photo blog.


You can see in the below photo, a large lump behind his left arm on his chest.  This lump and another lump on his neck have been diagnosed as cancerious Mast Cell tumors.  Each tumor is about 4cm in diameter (1-1/2in). We are optimistic that we have caught these tumors early enough and Buddy will soon be eligible to have these devistating tumors removed with surgery.  The doctor says that the incisions will be about 6in long.

Buddy's medical bills are pileing up.  So far we have spent  around $2000 on tests, x-rays, and doctors visit.  With his surgery and related care the bills should rise to around $5000.  Since Buddy is part of our family we are doing everything possible to cover his medical expenses.

 With your help we can save Buddy and reduce his family's stress considerably.

Any funds recieved in excess of Buddy's medical expenses will be donated to help other dogs with cancer and thier treatments.
