Tosca & Bryce

Hello,
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.

My name is Tosca and my sons name is Bryce.

I was the Activities Director for two senior residential complexes in Santa Rosa, I was recently laid off.
This is a huge factor in the reason I am reaching out for your help.

I have always worked hard to support my son and I. Sometimes working two and three jobs.

I believe we should all do our best to take care of ourselves and our own. But, sometimes, life Throws us a pretty intense curve ball and we find ourselves in a situation requiring us to reach out and ask for help.

1st goal
COMPLETE!!!
 Thank you!!!!!

I need to quickly find a new place to live for Bryce and I.
Unfortunately, our current living situation is not working out the way we had hoped it would. I am not comfortable talking about the details in a public forum, such as this. But, I will say that our situation is of no fault of mine or Bryce's and it is imperative, that we find a new home as soon as we can.

I am including some local rental stats towards the bottom of this page, in case you are unfamiliarwith the area.

As, most of us know, finding affordable housing in Sonoma county is a challenge to say the least.
We need to stay in the area for more than one reason, but the most important one is about my son.

Bryce's Dad and I are no longer married, but we have a good co-parenting system set up.
Bryce and his dad are very  close and enjoy spending time together, camping, going to baseball games, etc.
His dad and I have agreed to raise Bryce  in Sonoma County. Bryce has been in the same school since he was in 1st grade and has made friendships and bonds that will last a life time.

He is all set to go to High school to in August, and play on the school baseball team and engage in the sports program. He has already connected with the head coach and he super excited.
His grades are great and his attitude towards life and his goals is positive and motivated. We are so proud of him.

He is thriving and we really want it to stay that way as I am sure you can understand. We believe he has done so well because of the consistency he has come to rely on when it comes to school and sports. And..,  of course, the love he feels from our family and our friends.

Being a single parent can be financially challenging when your working, but it's especially hard when you have been laid off. Even more so in my situation. I am still waiting to receive my unemployment benefits after 2 and a half months. The paperwork they mailed me, was returned to them and never made it to me, so, I was unaware that they needed more information from me. This resulted in a disqualification, that I am currently appealing.
I am also looking for work every day. I am dylexic, which makes it a little tougher to find work. But, I am a pretty determined person.

My car is not running well and needs to be repaired asap, so, I can look for work in a broader area. The area we live in is rural and limited when it comes to jobs.

The donations we receive from this campaign will go towards finding a new home and vehicle repairs, as well as helping out  with groceries and utilities, which are now past due.  Anything extra will be "paid forward" to another family in need.

Bryce and I have been volunteering for non profits that help the homeless, and low income families and seniors, for sometime now.

In my career I have always focused on at risk teens, low income families and seniors and mental health.
Helping others is a passion of mine and I find it very rewarding.

I also have an online gift shop, that specializes in dress up costumes and accessories for children and adults.
I also believe that an equal  balance of work and play and  having fun is a requirement to living a happy life.
If you would like to help by purchasing from my shop that would be a great way to contribute. I take custom orders too.  I am always willing to play with the pricing to suite your budget. Everyone should be able to afford play time.
