Bring Your Own Bag

My name is Amanda Niebuhr, 

Green Minds is an active envrionmentalist organization that it making an effort to show how these ideas can be put to work in our town. 

The Bring Your Own Bag campaign is an effort to push the citizens of Lake Forest and Lake Bluff to make the switch from using plastic bags to using reusable bags. 
The money raised by this campaign will go towards buying reusable bags with our logo on them. This summer, I plan to be at grocery stores and farmers markets teaching people about how using plastic bags is destroying our planet and what we can do to fix the problem. 

I would like to have these bags ordered by the end of April so that when I get out of school at UIUC, I will be able to start campaigning and working with the cities of Lake Bluff and Lake Forest to install policies supporting this movement. 

I am a Integrative Biology major and an active rock climber in my Illinois community and I see through my studies and adventures the serious impacts humans are having on the environment. I believe in realistic solutions to protect the one and only earth we have. This campaign is my first effort to save this planet and the realistic change I want to see in this world.

All bags distributed this summer will be sold for an optional donation so that more people are able to make this change. Also donations will go straight to Green Minds.
