Brighten Up Chiquic

This campaign has the goal of helping people in the village of Chiquic in Guatemala. The village rests on top of a mountain, with no electricity for the 70 houses. The houses are primarily of families of students that when the sun goes down, they have no way of studying or for reading. I took a trip with the Manatee County Rotary Club and other students to the village to interact with the members of the village. I brought solar lights (one of them pictured) to the village to test how they worked in the households. The families loved the lights, and were truly greatful for the added commodity in their lives. I would love to be able to give lights to every household in Chiqiuc. With the money from this campaign, I will purchase solar lights so that the students and the people of the village are able to have something we take for granted. I know that the people of Chiquic would be forever greatful for the opportunity for their children to be able to acheive greater academic success thanks to your support!
