A Breath of Hope for Brenda

My name is Breiana and this is a campaign for my mom Brenda.  In Spetmeber of 2015 she was diagnosed with and extremely rare, terminal lung diasease called lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). This disease is so rare that my mom is one of 2000 known women world wide diagnosed with LAM. As a result, my mom is on oxygen 24/7. My mom works in the oil and gas industry and due to the economic crisis in the oil and gas market she may not have a job shortly and because of her need for oxygen this will impede her ability to obtain gainful employment. The complications associateed with LAM are popped lungs, chest tubes, and eventually lung transplants if you qualify.

She has worked extremely hard her entire life and overcame many obstacles, some of which most people couldn't handle, and all the while she's smiled and remained positive. My mom is a role model not only to me but everyone lucky enough to have met her. In 2014 she built her dream house and is now facing the possibility of not only losing that but everything she's worked her entire life for.

I would LOVE to be able to tell her that her house is paid off and relieve her of the burden of losing her home. I understand that this is an extremely optimistic goal, but if you knew my mom she always says I can do anything I put my mind to and I want to do this for her.  In addition to raising money, with the goal of paying off her house, I definitely want to donate a sizeable portion of the proceeds to the LAM foundation (http://www.thelamfoundation.org/). 

Due to the severity and rareness of LAM, donations are required urgently to fund research to find a treatment/cure. 

My mom is young and I want her to be there when I graduate univeristy, fall in love, get married, and be the amazing nana to my children that I know she will be. This disease has literally taken the wind and life out of her and has total changed our life forever. I don't want her to worry about money or where she's going to live. I want her to be able to enjoy the rest of her life and focus on fundraising and raising awareness for LAM.

Just writing this go fund me page and thinking of the possibilities of going to my mom and telling her that she never has to leave her house overwhelms me and literally brings me to tears. My mom has touched the hearts of everyone she's ever met and I want to show her how much I, and everyone else, care about her. She feels broken and I need your help to make her feel whole again.
