Brave Bags for children in crisis-Giving From The
Tax deductible
Giving From The Heart, a Leyde family 501 (c) 3 charity, is raising money to produce Brave Bags - backpacks of joy for children in crisis. This year we hope to produce 1000+ for the children of Butte County impacted by the horrific fires which have left them homeless and distraught . A Brave bag includes a Brave note of inspiration from a child in our area plus a flashlight, journal, crayons, pens, a lovey, a toy, toothbrush, school supplies... childhood joys just for them. 100% of the donations will be used for children in crisis. The bags will be distributed by a local foundation directly to the children in need. This year, and maybe next, we will focus on the children victim to the Northern California fires.
Giving From The Heart was founded to educate affluent school aged children on the gift of giving, of thinking of others. We introduce crisis's around the world that change life's course and to have empathy for those impacted by fires, hurricanes, floods, and poverty. The children then learn to give. Giving From The Heart is currently working through our family dance studio, Summit Dance Co and the Eastside community in Redmond, WA . We have helped children in crisis find joy for 18 years through holiday stockings for the Seattle homeless shelters, Brave Bags, fleece blankets, scarves, sending donations collected for floods in Peru, Hurricanes, poverty in Kenya, and local children in need.
