Library in rural Bolivia

Dear Friends,
Most of you know that I sponsor several children and one elder through an extraordinary organization called Unbound. I have been to Bolivia twice on Unbound trips and I am very close to—and involved with—my Bolivian families. I have not yet met my other sponsored friends (in Uganda, Madagascar, and Guatemala), but am aware of certain difficulties that my sponsored friends are facing. I have led other projects in the past and have seen the results with my own eyes—I know today that it is difficult to trust where your money is going, but I can say that I have met the Unbound staff and I trust them, they are my friends. My sponsored friends always confirm that they received what I sent them. Also, 100% of special funds go to the need the funds have been raised for.
This project is for a library to be built in Buen Retiro, a rural, indigenous community.
Project:
Buen Retiro Library (Bolivia) – Goal is to build a library in rural Buen Retiro, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. This is an indigenous community. They do not have a library at this time. One of my sponsored children lives in this community. The project has requested $2,720. This will pay for 5 bookshelves, 6 tables, 25 chairs, 1 desk w/chair, 1 television & DVD player, and a variety of books. If I can raise more than the amount requested, I would like to purchase a computer and printer for them, printing cartridges, paper, and peripherals. $2,720 is the minimum amount needed at this time.
