Art Workshop Bolivia

As an artist, I aspire to use my creative talents to give back to those in need – be it in my own community of NYC or in communities around the world.

I’m asking for your support in pursuit of this goal by helping to fund an art workshop for disadvantaged children in La Paz, Bolivia.

In April, 2017 and August, 2017  I will travel to La Paz to teach art programs - working with children who are being cared for by Fundacíon Alalay.
This organization is a Bolivian-based nonprofit serving at-risk and disadvantaged children.

Last year I self funded (via GoFundMe) a month long trip to Bolivia and created a fun, engaging, and successful art workshop that I am continuing to develop through more visits to La Paz.

The April & August  2017 workshops  I’m asking you to help support will serve more than 75 children between the ages of 7-15 and focus on drawing, painting and mixed media, while also incorporating art history and cultural studies.  The end of the workshop will culminate in an art exhibition event open to the public – a way of sharing the children’s artwork with the greater La Paz community.

These art workshops will provide an amazing opportunity for these children to learn more about art, to explore their creativity and to build self-esteem and communication skills.

I’m asking for your financial support to help make this opportunity a reality!

My financial goal for this project is $6500.  Your contributions to my GoFundMe campaign will help create an engaging, fun and educational experience for these amazing children living in extremely challenging circumstances.

All donations will go toward purchasing art materials, travel to and from Bolivia, local transportation, lodging and food, preparing the art for exhibition, and documenting the workshops via photo and video.

I greatly appreciate your support, and look forward to sharing images and stories with you from this project. There are some 'rewards' for certain donation amounts - but any amount is greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance for your compassion and generosity!

Dear Friends,
I'm grateful to be home in NYC after an amazing time in Bolivia. My internet access while there was limited and I'm starting this week to post pics on my Facebook and Instagram pages. I hope you'll take time to visit and see images from the past month (the links are below). I'll be sending out a summary email soon that will describe the workshop and related projects during my time in Bolivia.
I'm extremely grateful for your support - both financial but also through the kind words and messages of motivation I have received. This project continues to grow and I look forward to my next trip down to work with the kids and bring creativity and art to this awesome group of children.
Stay tuned for more information via my GoFundMe page soon!
Thank you all again for your compassion and support!
peace and Love, Robert
