House of Bliss SOBER LIVING

Bliss Wheeler is totally committed to starting a successful Sober Living home called House of Bliss,  in La Quinta, California on May 1, 2016 to meet the sober living needs of men with alcohol and substance abuse issues. There is a desperate need in the La Quinta Area for housing for men who are trying to get their lives together and return to the workforce and rejoin their families. We are a six-bed home and our intention is to be full within 30 days of opening.

Guided by the 12-Step Principles of Alcoholics Anonymous, along with our ‘Democratic House Structure,’ we cultivate personal as well as spiritual growth in each of our residents. We welcome those who sincerely wish to take action in their sobriety and recovery. Those who want to learn and refine new living skills that will provide them with a lasting recovery.

 HOUSE of BLISS is registered with the County of Riverside and the House Manager, Bliss Wheeler and his father, R. Zeke Wheeler have completed Leadership Training and are both certified by the Sober Living Network in “Developing and Operating Sober Living Housing”.  Zeke has 31 years of sobriety and Bliss on opening day will have two years clean and sober. Zeke will not draw a salary. Bliss will live on the premises and provide leadership to the other five residents. Bliss is very active in the AA program.  He volunteers at Martha's Village and Kitchen where he recently starred in a Time Warner  TV advertisement.    He also is an active member of Palm Desert Center for Spiritual Living under Reverend Dr. Joe Hooper.
