My name is Sam Webb, and this is my gofundme page for drama. I was fortunate enough to be offered places at five drama schools - Mountview Theatre Arts, Guildford School of Acting, Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and American Musical Theatre Academy but I have chosen the London School of Musical Theatre.
I first took an interest in musical theatre when I saw my first show in London at the age of 11. 11 years later (at 22 years old) and that buzz and ambition to be a performer has just grown and grown.
From the age of 11, I started tap classes and have gradually attended singing, jazz, ballet, acting classes, and by the age of 16 I was taking advanced exams in singing and acting.
At 18 I decided to take a gap year after taking my A levels to gain a bit more work experience before going to university, and then at 19 years old went to university. I am currently studying for a BA Hons in Musical Theatre and I am loving every minute. I have gained a lot of experience whilst at university, refining technique and attending extra workshops (advanced Estill singing workshops at Royal Academy of Music, for instance). I have gained other skills, in choreographing and directing, for uni shows, and for the Mercury Young Company's production of 'Animal Farm' where I was assistant choreographer. I also teach singing at a theatre school on a Saturday morning and I absolutely adore it.
I have recently been in a blockbuster film, where I was a featured actor alongside Rosamund Pike.
I have gained a plethora of skills and experience over my 3rd years at university, and LSMT will be my last year of training before going out into this very tough and crazily competitive industry.
As you may know, drama school fees are expensive and LSMT's fees are £14,650. I would like to let you know, that I will be applying for a couple of loans at the beginning of 2016 which will hopefully cover some of the tuition fees, however I need to be living in London to study, travelling in London every day and course materials (eg books, scripts, music, dance clothes) which will all need to be purchased before September 2016.
LSMT is a prestigious drama school specialising in Musical Theatre. If you've seen a West End show, a fringe theatre show, cruise shows, professional regional theatre productions, panto, watch TV & films, then you've probably seen an LSMT graduate. The success rate is ridiculously good! And is so exciting.
I don't really want to go on about it because I think you get the gist...
