An UNLAWFUL WASTE PROCESSING site next has been set up on Cockett Lane, in Farnsfield, right next to the Southwell Trail. It plans to process up to 250,000 tonnes of building waste a year and store and distribute hundreds of tonnes of building aggregates!
This is causing real problems for local residents including:
- Large numbers of HGV WAGONS endangering families on our village roads;
- Extremely loud NOISE POLLUTION seriously affecting nearby homes & Southwell Trail users;
- DAMAGE to the nature trail’s environment;
- HEALTH DAMAGE from clouds of dust; and
- HUGE piles of waste and aggregate blighting the countryside.
The site is on agricultural land and the owner is Peter Bratt, he operates under two company names: North Midland Plant and PB Waste. He was issued with an 'Enforcement Notice' to shut down in summer 2018 but he's trying to get round that with an appeal and now FIVE applications for Certificates of Lawfulness with Newark and Sherwood District Council. You can see the latest one on their website, its reference number is 18/02276/LDC.
Our village needs protecting. Please help us by contributing to the cost of our campaign to stop this unscrupulous man and others like him from ignoring the law and ruining our rural environment. Any money left after campaign costs will be donated to an environmental improvement project in Farnsfield.
If you believe that this activity has not been taking place on this site for 10 years as claimed, please also lodge your objection with the N & S D Council stating how and why you know that to be the case (this is not a normal Planning Application so you cannot object on 'planning grounds').
