Bike for Mick

Donation protected
This is Mick Dunne, ex Australian Naval engineer.

Mick serves as the Second Engineer onboard the MV AFRICA MERCY – the world’s largest non-governmental hospital ship operated by charity, Mercy Ships.  Mercy Ships provides free surgeries to those that cannot afford them in developing countries. Mick, together with his wife and 3 boys, have served for five years as unpaid volunteers onboard this ship, and has just signed up for another 3 years.

Mick is a keen cyclist and has ridden with the locals in the various African countries in which the ship has served - including most recently, Cameroon. He left his roadie with Unity Velo Club coach in Cameroon for an up and coming youngster to use.

As someone who has volunteered with the AFRICA MERCY a number of times, I have benefitted from Mick’s local riding contacts and been able to join in on weekend rides, experiencing Africa in a completely different way. As he heads to Guinea in August, I would like to be able to surprise him with $ for a new roadie to join the locals in Conakry.
