Going to college or trade school is a dream come true for many of us!
The Bandon Historical Society is sponsoring a “50 Years Later - 2017” scholarship for a deserving, meritorious, in-need student from Bandon High School who has displayed the potential to benefit society by furtherance of their education. Here’s your opportunity to help!
The Bandon High School Class of 2017 will be the beneficiary of this scholarship funded by community supporters. Any and all supporters who wish to celebrate the education and positive experiences they had while growing up in Bandon are encouraged to participate as well. The BHS Class of 1967 graduated 50 years ago and is taking the lead by organizing and making donations to the scholarship.
Parameters for the scholarship are determined by the Bandon Historical Society and Museum Board of Directors who will make the presentation at the June 2017 graduation exercises. Since you’re donating to a non-profit your donation is tax deductible.
A lot has happened in the past 50 years at Bandon High School. The building that the students went to classes in burned to the ground in 1974. A new school, new gymnasium, new athletic fields and stadiums have replaced the facilities. It’s a new world with new challenges out there. This is your opportunity to help young people equip themselves for the challenges ahead!
An anonymous donor has committed to cover fundraising costs so that means 100% of your donation goes to this scholarship. Fifty Years Later is about people who want to give back to the community and provide assistance to others!
The deadline for donations for this year's scholarship is May 1.
