Brittany's Bucket List

Donation protected
No one ever wants to find themselves writing something like this. Asking for money is difficult enough, Asking for money for a friend to live out her last days is so much harder. It is with an extremely heavy heart that I inform you that after a long fight with cancer, It has reared it’s ugly head again and her doctors have chosen to stop treatment.

Brittany Hart has always been the light at the end of the tunnel for everyone that knows her. Especially in regard to putting forth really tough info about her condition. Her witty and sarcastic nature, and general brave attitude helped us swallow the scary and sad news. We have all followed the ups and downs and as much as we were supporting her, she was supporting us.

I think it’s time we take the reigns.

Brittany’s Bucket List

A trip to Seattle to see her friends and chosen family and go sledding. (other shennanigans may ensue)
A trip to Vegas for the first time to ride dune buggies, see some shows and throw some die and yell (she loves yelling)
A visit to 2 of her favorite yearly Renaissance Festivals, one in her home state of Florida and one in Tennessee.
A journey to Scotland. She is 45% Scottish and has always wanted to go and see where she comes from.

I am hoping we can rally together and get this awesome lady some funds to do what she wants. Some of the money will also go for travel to and from her home in Naples and her doctor in Tampa. Any little bit helps, if you can’t help, please share this link! That works too.

Thank you for your time.

If you’d like to read more on Brittany’s struggle, there is a timeline and a link below.

Brittany’s timeline

Brittany began her battle with cancer in fall of 2014.

-She was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Lymphatic and vascular involvement stage 3/ borderline stage 4.

-Chemotherapy followed by a radical double mastectomy on May 18, 2015. At this point she was declared free of cancer.

-She endured radiation therapy July and August, 2015

-December 9, 2015, a pet scan showed superclavical anomaly, a biopsy later revealed it was cancer, no pathology though as the sample was too small.

-A surgery to remove it was scheduled for February 1, 2016.

- January 27, 2016 a pet scan showed a mass in mediastinal lymph nodes (sternum) with potential bone involvement. It was at this time, the surgery was cancelled as it would not address the issue.

-New diagnosis is a triple negative (type of breast cancer) sternal recurrence, which is extremely rare and is possible, very hard to treat. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2528306/

This link I have provided is about a woman who went through everything Brittany is, but it was on her left side and recurrence was 3 years, not 6 months later.

-The “shelf life” for recurrence sooner than 3 years is 9 months.

The only option she has now, is a clinical trial that uses chemotherapy in conjunction with a drug used to treat Cushing’s Disease, in hope that the pill (an abortion pill) will assist the chemo in slowing or stopping the aggressive growth of this cancer. She will also be using RSO, a marijuana product, with high doses of vitamin C to help boost the trial drugs.

Triple negative breast cancer with no previous family history and no genetic markers for predisposition toward cancer is rare, Sternal recurrence is even more rare. In Brittany’s words, “ Basically I am trying to hit a bullseye that’s a mile away with a dart made out of spitwads, in the hopes that maybe some bit will stick,”
