March of the Living

Hi my name is Bailey Abramowitz and I am a senior in high school.  During the past two years I have been involved in BBYO, an international Jewish youth group.  BBYO offers and encourages a trip called the March of the Living to high school students.  

The March of the Living starts in Poland visiting Treblinka, Majdanek, Auschwitz-Birkenau ending with a 3 kilometer walk out of Auschwitz.   After Poland, the trip goes to Israel to climb Masada, visit the dead sea, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.  On the trip we get to be part of Holocaust Remembrance day, Israel's Memorial day, and Israeli Independence day.

I have been to Israel twice in my life.  The first, to celebrate my brother's bar mitzvah, and last summer to live and volunteer on an army base.  These trips were my two favorite trips that I have ever taken.  They were incredible and unique experiences and I have been hoping to go back to Israel since.  

Many years ago my grandparents escaped their homes in Poland to come to America.  Because of them and their stories and history, I feel the need to connect with my roots in Poland and by going and visiting Poland and the camps that caused so much pain to my ancestors.  Please help me and donate so that I can go on this once in a life time trip.  Any amount that can be donated will mean so much to me and really help!
