Dear brothers and sisters in Christ; on behalf of the parishioners of Fenote Hiwot Beata LeMariam Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in Richmond, Virginia, greetings.
Finote Hiwot Beata LeMariam, EOTC is currently in the process of moving/buying the church building shown above in the picture at 105 E. Pilkington St. Richmond VA 23224 ... perviously we were located at 9601 Hull Street Road; Richmond, Virginia sharing sanctuary with the Lutheran Church of Our Savior. In the beginning, church members numbered less than 20; however, through God’s grace there has been a steady growth since then with current numbers approaching 75. We are a small community trying to establish a church that follows the teachings in the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our goal is to save as many souls for Christ as possible so that He may be pleased with our work in His second coming.
The mission of the church is to keep the practices of Christianity and to proclaim the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Orthodox Christian faith. The work and ministry of our church includes sanctifying the faithful through God's grace in worship, conducting Divine Liturgy, offering the Sacraments of our Lord Jesus Christ, and enhancing the spiritual life of its followers. These services are in manners consistent with the faith, values and traditions of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church. The goal of the church is to inherit the religion, history, culture, language, traditions, and values of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church to our children born in diaspora.
The faithful have decided to purchase a permanent home where uninterrupted worship services may be conducted based on their tradition. However, the church has limited financial resources, and this small community is fervently engaged in fundraising activities to purchase the church which is posted above.
In order to make our dreams come true, we are reaching out to you through this letter for your assistance.
Our Goal is to raise 140K towards the Church building fund account.
