Previously, I was a National Bernie Delegate looking to get to Philadelphia. I made it there and I have so many wonderful people to thank for that.

After spending time in Philadelphia, schmoozing and meeting some very powerful politicians in the Democratic Party, I have decided that this is truly my calling and there are no ifs, ands, nor buts about that.

Bernie Sanders inspired me to want to make a change, and be that change. So, I dropped my old Business Finance major and have decided to pursue Political Science (and hopefully law school!) I want to be just like Bernie: an honest, hard working, ethical politician who is always on the right side of history, looking out for the people with no voice. I want to protect and fight for the middle class, and take on the elitists that threaten our democracy. I want to be someone who people are proud of. So, it comes as no surprise that I want to get an education at a place people can recognize.

I decided that I want to continue my education after Jr. College somewhere my heart has been set on for many years: Morehouse College.

I have been constantly juggling if I want to go to one of the most prestigious and well known HBCU's in the country, or if I want to stay home and, although not really what I want, go to a school locally.

Originally, I decided I would stay local for my undergrad and then leave for Morehouse for my graduate degree, however, there's only one slight problem with that: Morehouse is a college, meaning bachelors degrees only.

I cannot afford to go to Morehouse, this is obvious. However, I know there are people out there who have seen a similar struggle and are willing to help those in need. So, I decided to recycle my old GFM and use it as go-fund-me college fund.

Morehouse hosts a fine Political Science program that I would be extremely fortunate to be a part of.

In my future, I plan to run for local, statewide, and federal offices alike. If I'm not a politician myself, I would love to be behind the scenes, helping those in my community and elsewhere as well.

Although I don't expect a huge turnout for this like there was for the DNC in Philadelphia, I'm still grateful for all that is/will be donated.

All proceeds will go into my savings account marked: College Fund — If I do not acquire enough money by March of 2017, I will most likely use the money I raise to keep myself out of debt for one year at UMKC, and transfer for my senior year, to Morehouse College.

Thank you.

Well, I just got off of the phone with Bernie Sanders earlier, in which I learned much about his heart breaking decision to endorse Hillary Clinton. Although he is endorsing her, his campaign is not over and the convention will go on. We as delegates are still responsible to fill our roles. Aside from still trying to get Bernie elected, we must also look to shape the party platform.

Bernie let out 7 key statements tonight.
1. He has been negotiating with Clinton over key issues. He is her reason for embracing free college tuition for families making less than $125k, doubling the budget for free health care clinics across the nation which provide healthcare to 25% of citizens, and has agreed to support a public option for healthcare.
2. He encouraged all delegates to show up in PA for a platform change, calling on the Democratic Party to become more grassroots by removing or overhauling the superdelegate system, forcing all states to have open primaries, and moving the party away from monied interests.
3. He's calling for the shift in focus to be to the progressive tickets in your local, state, and state specific federal elections. We need to back progressive candidates in every aspect of government in order for the revolution to take full effect. Helping to fundraise and volunteer for our local progressives, he will be endorsing over 100.
4. We need to CALL OUR FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES NOW and tell them to oppose the TPP. He believes that they are going to try to pass the TPP before Hillary would take office. Obama has already said that he supports it so all it will take is the current congress to pass it now. Binding Hillary to oppose it will make no difference if that happens.
5. He is NOT suspending his campaign! But if he cannot convince the Superdelegates to vote in our favor it will be up to us to uphold our values and fight, donate, and volunteer for the sole candidate who also aligns with Bernie's truly progressive, grassroots values.

I still have yet to reach my goal, with only 5 days left until the Missouri delegation fundraising deadline.
Thank you for all of your support, and remember, #usnotme

One of my roommates is going to be rooming with someone else now so I'm raising my limit just a tad, to better help cushion my other roommates and I. The price per person went up about $200 not including taxes and additional fees. Thanks all who've been supportive and have donated!!! We're almost there!!!

I'm very glad I was a state delegate at the Missouri state convention yesterday, and was elected a national delegate on behalf of my state. I'm very glad that we had the numbers to push a progressive agenda through for the future of the Democratic Party. I feel like the national At Large delegates we selected are a very strong team. And we swept the four Democratic National Committee spots from Missouri and filled them with 4 of the most promising progressives (Berniecrats) to be elected officials from Missouri, becoming the first state to do so.

All of our resolutions, including my taxation on the wealthy resolution, made it onto our platform; our resolutions include fair taxation, abolition of Super delegates, combatting climate change, universal healthcare, and many more progressive ideas.

I'm disappointed that our resolution to abolish super delegates was watered down "working toward reducing their role." This vague wording assures that little action will be taken toward this, but I remain hopeful that we will eliminate their role in the future and work toward a proportional representation rather than personal desire.

It was a huge win for progressives in Missouri yesterday. We officially took over the convention and have helped shape the Democratic Party.

Now, we fundraise to help get our delegates to Philadelphia, and work on down ballot progressive candidates. THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER!!!
