Help A Berner Get His Education!!
Donation protected
Previously, I was a National Bernie Delegate looking to get to Philadelphia. I made it there and I have so many wonderful people to thank for that.
After spending time in Philadelphia, schmoozing and meeting some very powerful politicians in the Democratic Party, I have decided that this is truly my calling and there are no ifs, ands, nor buts about that.
Bernie Sanders inspired me to want to make a change, and be that change. So, I dropped my old Business Finance major and have decided to pursue Political Science (and hopefully law school!) I want to be just like Bernie: an honest, hard working, ethical politician who is always on the right side of history, looking out for the people with no voice. I want to protect and fight for the middle class, and take on the elitists that threaten our democracy. I want to be someone who people are proud of. So, it comes as no surprise that I want to get an education at a place people can recognize.
I decided that I want to continue my education after Jr. College somewhere my heart has been set on for many years: Morehouse College.
I have been constantly juggling if I want to go to one of the most prestigious and well known HBCU's in the country, or if I want to stay home and, although not really what I want, go to a school locally.
Originally, I decided I would stay local for my undergrad and then leave for Morehouse for my graduate degree, however, there's only one slight problem with that: Morehouse is a college, meaning bachelors degrees only.
I cannot afford to go to Morehouse, this is obvious. However, I know there are people out there who have seen a similar struggle and are willing to help those in need. So, I decided to recycle my old GFM and use it as go-fund-me college fund.
Morehouse hosts a fine Political Science program that I would be extremely fortunate to be a part of.
In my future, I plan to run for local, statewide, and federal offices alike. If I'm not a politician myself, I would love to be behind the scenes, helping those in my community and elsewhere as well.
Although I don't expect a huge turnout for this like there was for the DNC in Philadelphia, I'm still grateful for all that is/will be donated.
All proceeds will go into my savings account marked: College Fund — If I do not acquire enough money by March of 2017, I will most likely use the money I raise to keep myself out of debt for one year at UMKC, and transfer for my senior year, to Morehouse College.
Thank you.
